Why am I tired all the time?
Persistent tiredness most often comes from a mix of poor or disrupted sleep, stress, low mood, and medical causes such as anemia, thyroid problems, sleep apnea, or nutrient deficiencies. For women, heavy periods, pregnancy or postpartum changes, and perimenopause can also play a role. If it lasts more than a few weeks or affects your daily life, it’s worth getting checked.

When does tiredness need prompt attention?
Seek urgent care if fatigue comes with chest pain, shortness of breath, fainting, sudden weakness, confusion, very heavy bleeding, or thoughts of harming yourself. Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.

How do your cells make energy?
(nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide)
Your cells make energy in mitochondria, using nutrients and coenzymes like B vitamins, iron, and NAD+. Whether changing any one of these helps with fatigue isn’t established, so finding the underlying cause comes first.
NAD levels are reported to decline with age.
