Morning,
Just wanted to check in! How’s it going, are you seeing results?
Hey, thanks for checking in
I am seeing a difference! Let’s continue with this formula 🎉
What ingredients do you use?
Because compound creams are custom to you, what ingredients go into your formula depends on your skin and skincare
goals. Here is a list of the most common ingredients we use, and what they tackle.
Aloe vera
Aloe vera is a moisturizing and cooling agent that we can add to a compound if it includes other ingredients that are
drying!
Azelaic acid
Azelaic acid actually already exists in your skin! It’s a naturally occurring anti-bacterial acid that helps reduces
pimple and blackhead formation. It also helps the skin renew itself, reducing hyperpigmentation (dark spots).
Clindamycin
Clindamycin is an antibiotic that both reduces and prevents the growth of acne-causing bacteria, as well as reducing
swelling.
Erythromycin
Erythromycin is an antibiotic that reduces inflammation and hyperpigmentation, all while killing acne-causing bacteria.
Glycolic acid
Glycolic acid is a moisturizer with anti-oxidant properties that also becomes a peeling agent at higher concentrations!
It removes dead skin cells to rejuvenate the skin, making it smoother and more even.
Hyaluronic acid
Hyaluronic acid is a moisturizer that helps with wrinkles, saggy skin, and uneven pigmentation or texture.

Hydrocortisone
Hydrocortisone is a topical steroid very similar to the hormone cortisol, which the body naturally produces
when stressed to relieve inflammation. Similarly, hydrocortisone reduces the inflammation and redness that
happens when acne forms.
Hydroquinone
Hydroquinone helps reduce hyperpigmentation and acne scarring by blocking the process that leads to
discolouration in the first place. It inhibits tyrosine, an element involved in melatonin production, to
accomplish this.
Ketotifen
Ketotifen is an antihistamine that reduces redness and inflammation by stabilizing mast cells that otherwise
may be producing too much histamine, affecting your skin.
Kojic acid
Kojic acid is an anti-oxidant that also reduces hyperpigmentation by inhibiting tyrosine, stopping
discolouration before it can even start.
Niacinamide
Niacinamide is a form of vitamin B3 that helps reduce the amount of sebum (oil) your skin makes. It’s
anti-microbial, anti-inflammatory, and good for both dry skin, oily skin, and skin with wrinkles.
Spironolactone
Spironolactone is a type of hormonal therapy that reduces excessive production of the hormone androgen. Too
much of this hormone can cause your skin to produce too much sebum (oil). Reducing it helps unclog your pores,
and prevent future acne breakouts.
Sulfacetamide
Sulfacetamide is an antibiotic that kills acne-causing bacteria and works as a peeling agent by removing dead
skin cells, unclogging pores and making skin smoother.
Sulfur
Sulfur has both antifungal and antibacterial properties, making it very effective at killing acne-causing
bacteria. It also helps absorb excess sebum (oil) that your skin produces, helping unclog your pores and prevent
future breakouts.
Topical retinoids
Topical retinoids are medications derived from vitamin A. They reduce inflammation and hyperpigmentation as
well as fine lines and wrinkles, and help other medications permeate the skin to work more effectively.
Tretinoin
Tretinoin is a retinoic acid that reduces inflammation, scarring, helps your skin regulate its production of
sebum (oil), and helps your skin get rid of dead skin cells faster so they can’t build up and cause pimples.
Is it covered by insurance?
This depends on what type of insurance coverage you have. Insurance plans vary; please check your specific plan to see if you’re covered.
If you’re covered, claiming your coverage for compound medication is slightly different from the usual. Because compound creams are customized to you, no two are the same, and the insurance company can’t apply their standard one-size-fits-all coverage.
Fortunately, the solution is simple: give them your receipts. They’ll look at what’s in your compound, and then can give coverage for your unique mix.
Still have questions? Don’t worry. Our pharmacy team is always happy to assist you with the process.
What’s the process?
It’s simple! We’ve separated the process into 2 paths so you can pick which suits you best.
Taking the Expert path?
Fill out a quick quiz to see several recommendations for you, fast. Fill your cart with what you want, then complete the rest of the consultation when you want! Our doctors then look over your answers and order to make sure everything’s good. Once medically checked, your custom compound cream gets sent to you in our free, discreetly packaged shipping. Plus, we follow up to be sure it’s working for you, and if not? Your unique formula is always adjustable.
Taking the Beginner path?
Not sure you could pick out what you want from an earlier, broader recommendation? Fill out our complete quiz all at once to get highly specific recommendations for you.
Almost ready to checkout…but have questions?
No matter if you’re a beginner or an expert, you can always meet for free with one of our medical professionals to talk one-on-one about what you want, what’s in your custom formula, and why.
All finished!
After you order, our medical team checks in once every three months to see how you’re progressing. Unsatisfied with the results, or finding your skin problems have changed? Discuss it with one of our medical professionals and if needed, we’ll change your formula to something new. Skin changes all the time: which is why the best solution to tackle acne is one that adapts with it.
